Yahoo! offers publishers Google ads
Friday, 13 Jun, 2008
Yahoo! hopes its new deal with Google to share ad space will offer publishers better opportunities.
The deal will see Yahoo! run Google ads alongside its search results. The pact is non-exclusive and allows the firm to display search results generated by other third parties or its own, Panama marketplace.
Yahoo! will be able to decide the search term queries for which - and the pages on which it may offer Google paid search results.
"This agreement provides a source of funds to both deliver financial value to stockholders from search monetization and to invest in our broader strategy to transform display advertising and advance our starting point objectives with users," said president, Sue Decker.
The company is hoping to improve cash operating flow and offer advertisers and media planning jobs multiple marketplace alternatives.
It claimed: "Publishers will benefit from a winning combination of distribution, monetisation and services to help them grow their businesses."
Analyst, E-consultancy, has predicted UK media spend on online advertising networks will grow by 60 per cent this year.
